Indian Society of Gastroenterology is proud to honor the distinguished members of the Society with number of awards and orations. These awards are conferred every year during the annual congress of ISG.

Any member of ISG can nominate another member of ISG with a distinguished career for the ISG-PN Chuttani Distinguished Achievement Oration

Individual member also can apply herself or himself for the prestigious ISG ISG-PN Chuttani Distinguished Achievement Oration


Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The applicant should be of Indian Nationality.
  • Work should have been done in India.
  • Applicant should apply for only one award at the time.

Specific Eligibility Criteria:


The nominee should have a distinguished academic career and should have made outstanding contributions in the field of Gastroenterology or related fields, evidenced by original publications in indexed journals. Their contributions in academics/research /teaching in this field and their contributions to the Indian Society of Gastroenterology will be considered to assess eligibility.

Selection process:

  1. Awardee will be selected by a panel of Judges, per award nominated by the ISG executive. Judges should not be part of the ISG executive. Judges opinion will be conveyed to the ISG executive for final approval.
  2. In case no nomination is received or no suitable applicant is found, the Governing Council will have the right to nominate any person who fulfils these criteria.

General Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The applicant should be of Indian Nationality.
  • Applicant should be less than 40 years of age
  • Work should have been done in India.
  • Applicant should apply for only one award at the time.

Selection process:


  1. Awardee will be selected by a panel of 3 Judges per award nominated by the ISG executive. Judges should not be part of the ISG executive. Judges opinion will be conveyed to executive for final approval. Governing Council has the right to reject or nominate.
  2. In case no nomination is received or no suitable applicant is found, the Governing Council will have the right to nominate any person who fulfils these criteria.


Specific Eligibility Criteria:

  1. The nominee should have a distinguished academic career and should have made outstanding contributions in the field of Gastroenterology or related fields, evidenced by original publications in indexed journals and other contributions in academics and research.
  2. The award is based on the 10 best research papers published by the applicant.
  3. Applicant should be below the age of 40 years on of 1st July of the year applied for the award.

ISG Best Researcher of the Year Award is awarded every year to a distinguished member of ISG in recognition of her/his best publication in a calendar year. (Jan 1 2020 to Dec 31 2020)


General Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The applicant should be of Indian Nationality.
  • Work should have been done in India.
  • Applicant should apply for only one award at the time.

Selection process:


  • Awardee will be selected by a panel of 3 Judges per award nominated by the ISG executive. Judges should not be part of the ISG executive. Judges opinion will be conveyed to executive for final approval.
  • In case no nomination is received or no suitable applicant is found, the Governing Council along with a representative of the Trust (if required) will have the right to nominate any person who fulfils these criteria


Specific Eligibility Criteria:


  • The award will be conferred to an Indian scientist for the best published work in the field of diseases of the digestive tract and liver, and other sciences as related to these areas.
  • The applicant should have done research in any branch of Gastroenterology, as evidenced by publications in recognized journals in the previous calendar year
  • (January 1st to December 31st 2020)

  1. Awardee will be selected by a panel of 3 Judges per award nominated by the ISG executive. Judges should not be part of the ISG executive. Judges’ opinion will be conveyed to executive for final approval.
  2. In case no nomination is received or no suitable applicant is found, the Governing Council will have the right to nominate any person who fulfils these criteria.

Specific Eligibility Criteria:


  1. Thesis should have been submitted and approved by the external panel appointed by the institute.
  2. Publication emanating from the thesis should have been published/accepted for publication in an index journal as an original article within 2 years of thesis submission.
  3. Anybody who has submitted DM/DNB thesis in Gastroenterology will be Eligible within 2 years after passing the DM/DNB exam
