Indian Society of Gastroenterology is proud to honor the distinguished members of the Society with number of awards and orations. These awards are conferred every year during the annual congress of ISG.

FP Antia Award

Dr P N Chuttani Oration

Invitation for the application:


Any member of ISG can nominate another member of ISG, with a distinguished carrear, for PN Chuttani Oration. Individual member also can apply herself or himself for the prestious PN Chuttani Oration.


Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The nominee should have a distinguished academic career and should have made outstanding contributions in Gastroenterology or related fields.
  • In case no nomination is received or no suitable applicant is found, the Governing Council along with a representative of the Trust will have the right to nominate any person who fulfils these criteria.

Selection criteria:


The awardee will be selected by a national panel of judges on the basis of the curriculum vitae of the applicant.



Award includes:

  1. Awadee will be invited to deliver the Oration during the ISGCON
  2. Plaque and a Certificate

Please submit:


A letter of application, along with 6 sets of the complete curriculum vitae along with complete list of publications. It will be appropriate if you can summarize the impact of her/his work in the field of patient care, reseach and education.

Prof CM Habibullah Oration

Invitation for the application:


Any member of ISG can nominate another member of ISG, with a distinguished carrear, for CM Habibullah Oration. Individual member also can apply herself or himself for the CM Habibullah Ortaion.


Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The nominee should have a distinguished academic career and should have made outstanding contributions in Gastroenterology or related fields.
  • The applicant should have done research in any branch of Gastroenterology, as evidenced by at least 20 publications in recognized journals.
  • The work should have been done in India as far as possible.

Selection criteria:


  • The awardee will be selected by a national panel of judges on the basis of the 20 best publications of the applicant/nominee.
  • The papers will be scored based on the Impact factors of the journals in which these papers have been published.


Award includes:

  1. Awardee will be invited to deliver the Oration during the ISGCON
  2. Plaque and a Certificate
  3. Cash award

ISG-Zydus Oration

Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The nominee should have a distinguished academic career and should have made outstanding contributions in Gastroenterology or related fields.
  • The applicant should have done research in gastroenterology as evidenced by at least 20 publications in the form of full reports with references; summaries in conference proceedings or abstracts of presentations are not acceptable.
  • Governing Council has the right to reject or nominate.

Selection criteria:


The awardee will be selected by a national panel of judges on the basis 20 best research publications of the applicant.



Award includes:

  1. Awardee will be invited to deliver the Oration during the ISGCON
  2. Plaque and a Certificate
  3. Cash prize: INR 25,000/-

Om Prakash Memorial Award

Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The nominee should have a distinguished academic career and should have made outstanding contributions in Gastroenterology or related fields.
  • Governing Council has the right to reject or nominate.
  • The award is based on the 10 best research papers published by the applicant.
  • Applicant should be below the age of 40 years.

Selection criteria:


The awardee will be selected by a national panel of judges on the basis of the curriculum vitae of the applicant.



Award includes:

  1. Plaque and a Certificate
  2. Cash prize: INR 25,000/-

Dr S R Naik Memorial Award

SR Naik Memorial Award is awarded every year to a distingished member of ISG in recognition of the her/his best publication in a calender year. (Jan 1 to Dec 31)


Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The award will be conferred to an Indian scientist for the best published work in the field of diseases of the digestive tract and liver, and other sciences as related to these areas.
  • Governing Council has the right to reject or nominate.

Selection criteria:


The awardee will be selected by a national panel of judges on the basis of publications in the calender year.



Award includes:

  1. Plaque and a Certificate
  2. Cash prize: INR 20,000/

Applicants are required to submit a list of publications in the calendar year for which the award is meant, and 5 photocopies of such publications.

ISG-Dr S R Naik Travel Fellowships

Eligibility:

  • The applicant should be the member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology.
  • The nominee should have a distinguished academic career and should have made outstanding contributions in Gastroenterology or related fields.
  • Governing Council has the right to reject or nominate.
  • These fellowships are aimed at encouraging exchange of postgraduate students (DM/MCh/DNB) between different academic departments imparting training in gastroenterology, surgical gastroenterology and paediatric gastroenterology.

Selection criteria:


The awardee will be selected by a national panel of judges on the basis of the curriculum vitae of the applicant.

Selection Committee for the fellowship will consist of three persons (a) a representative of the ISG, (b) one person from among the faculty of the Departments of Gastroenterology or Surgical Gastroenterology at the SGPGI, Lucknow and (c) a person nominated by the Head, Department of Gastroenterology, SGPGI, Lucknow.



Award includes:

  1. Travel cost (AC 3 chair car/ AC-3 tier )
  2. Lodging and boarding (an amount of Rs.5,000 per month, reduced on a pro-rata basis if duration is shorter).

Applicants are required to send their bio-data, proof of being a bona-fide student in the specialty (from the head of the their department), name of the department and institution that they wish to visit, a letter from the head of the host department accepting her/him for training, and a certificate that s/he is not in receipt of any other financial support for this purpose.

Note: The fellowship will be tenable for a maximum period of one month.

Plenary session Award

For consideration of your paper for consideration of presentation in the Plenary Session, you should submit full manuscript of your work to the secretariat

  1. Six papers will be selected for presentation in the Plenary Session of ISGCON.
  2. Papers must not have been published/accepted at the time of submission.
  3. Any member of ISG is eligible to submission of his/her paper for Plenary Session.
  4. All the paper will be reviewed by a panel of judges.
  5. The result of the selection of the paper will be intimated to the corresponding author.
  6. There are three awards for papers presented during the Plenary Session.
  • 1st Prize – Rs. 20,000/-
  • 2nd Prize – Rs.15,000/-
  • 3rd Prize – Rs. 10,000/-

Young Investigator Award

For consideration of your paper for consideration of presentation in the Young Investigator Award session, you should submit full manuscript of your work to the secretariat of ISG

  1. Any member of ISG is eligible for submission of his/her paper for Young Investigator Award.
  2. Applicant should be less than age of 40 years.
  3. All the paper will be review by a panel of judges.
  4. Papers must not have been published/accepted at the time of submission.
  5. The result of the selection of the paper will be intimated to the corresponding author
  6. There are three awards for papers presented during the Young Investigator Award
  • 1st Prize – Rs. 20,000/-
  • 2nd Prize – Rs.15,000/-
  • 3rd Prize – Rs. 10,000/-

ISG Abbott Presidential Poster Awards

Distinguished papers amongst those submitted for consideration for presentation in the plenary session and Young Investigator Award session and free paper will be selected by the panel of Judges for the presentation in the Presidential Poster session. The objective of this award is to support and reward the best poster in the field of Gastroenterology by ISG organizing committee members. This academic initiative is supported by Abbott India Limited.


Three awards will be given for the three best Presidential Posters
